What a fantastic experience! Felt like I was transported to old Appalachia in this beautiful restaurant with rich history, art, and music. It was great to be greeted by the owner. The food was delicious! Can’t wait to return!

Second time here, returned as we had a wonderful meal and experience before. Once again we were greeted and seated by the owner who is very welcoming and friendly. Last visit he gave us the history of the building and how he came to own and operate the place which was informative. They offer you biscuits or corn bread which arrive with butter and apple jam which is very tasty. I loved the mustard based potato salad and ham slice dinner. It also came with baked apple slices which were tasty. Friendly service and a warm atmosphere for an enjoyable meal. We will return again next time we pass through Blacksburg.

Came here a while ago during a winter parade and they served hot cocoa and put seats out. Big points for service there. And that made me wanna try out some of their food. They claimed to have the best fried chicken around so I came back couple months later and got an order of the 2 piece with mac and coleslaw. This chicken was phenomenal and juicy! Id guess they brined their chicken to get it like that. let me tell you these people are not frugal with the seasoning that skin is so flavorful crunchy that I thought they should add it to the Mac as a topping for extra bite and texture. Aside from the chicken the Mac n cheese is good, the coleslaw is definitely homemade and fresh. The order comes with their delicious signature biscuit alongside apple butter and regular butter. I would recommend trying out their savory green beans and ham or creamy mashed potatoes as I tried those before and they do good job. My total came to about ~17 dollars but it was money well spent! definitely don't get that level of satisfaction from fast food.

House turned into restaurant. Very friendly and attentive staff. Other patrons were friendly too. Fried chicken was their specialty as well as the meatloaf. Blueberry pie tasted homemade snd was the highlight for me!
