I am a huge fan of the University Club of Virginia Tech. For those of you wondering why you should pay to belong to a city club when there are already so many good restaurants in town, look no further than this club. First of all, you are literally in the President's suite inside Lane Stadium. You have jaw-dropping views of the football field on one side and of the mountains and campus on the other. Whoever decorated this place knew what they were doing. It's hard to believe there is such an upscale place in Blacksburg. It's an open floor plan with floor to ceiling windows everywhere, comfortable tables and booths, and a really cool bar area. It's so nice inside that members often bring their laptops to work remotely for a good part of the day in the club's spacious and comfortable seating areas. The food is as good or better than any high-end restaurant in Blacksburg and the prices are very reasonable for what you get. The staff is incredibly welcoming, friendly, and well-trained and they clearly enjoy working here and serving their members. Parking is ridiculously convenient, which is really important on Virginia Tech's campus. The club provides great events for its members and guests, including pre-game events for football and basketball games. Membership is of all ages, with a refreshing and surprisingly large number of younger people. The atmosphere is fun, vibrant, and never intimidating or stuffy. The service, food, and atmosphere here is equivalent to what you would get at a nice country club or high-end restaurant, but for a fraction of the price. This is a place where you could go if you want to impress someone, like on a first date or to close an important business deal. It's easy and inexpensive to join and you also have access to other nice city and stadium clubs throughout the country. You can also cancel your membership at any time, so there's no risk. If you are curious and want to have a look, please go to the club's website or reach out to the membership director, Michael Bordens, who is extremely enthusiasitc about the club and will immediately make you feel like a valued guest. If you live near Blacksburg or visit often and want a perfect place to dine or even hang out during the day, the University Club of Virginia Tech is a no-brainer.
