Mezeh Mediterranean Grill Blacksburg, Virginia Saturday, April 18th, 2026 ~2-3PM This was definitely a repeat visit for me—I come here all the time. After my mom and I finished the Run for Remembrance 5K, we decided to treat ourselves, and Mezeh felt like the perfect choice. It’s one of those places that’s both filling and healthy, so you leave satisfied without feeling weighed down like you would after greasy fast food. The atmosphere is simple but really nice. Inside, there are a small variety of seating options—booths, tables, and spots where you can plug in a laptop and study. The decor is minimal but cute, with soft, easy lighting that makes it feel cozy. The exterior is also great, with a small outdoor seating area with some tables and umbrellas. That’s where we sat, and it was a really pleasant spot. Everything, both inside and out, was very clean and well-kept. It was moderately busy when we went, but still quiet and relaxed. The ordering process is similar to a build-your-own bowl setup, and it was smooth and fairly quick. The staff weren’t overly talkative, but they were still kind and polite. I did feel a little rushed while choosing toppings, but that’s something I personally tend to feel in these types of places anyway. Portion-wise, the rice and protein were a bit skimpy at first, but the toppings were much more generous, which helped balance it out. The food is where Mezeh really stands out. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, like it hadn’t been sitting out at all. I built my own bowl (pictured below) with white basmati rice, double protein (chicken shawarma and honey harissa chicken), and a wide variety of toppings. The flavor combination was amazing—every bite felt a little different, with a mix of savory, fresh, and slightly tangy elements. The textures were just as good, especially with the crunchy toppings like pita croutons and chickpeas paired with the tender chicken and creamy sauces. The temperature was spot-on, and the portion size was very filling. After finishing my bowl, I was completely satisfied for the rest of the day, and my mom usually splits hers into two meals. A few toppings I especially liked were the seasonal vegetables, pita croutons, and the Mezeh Caesar sauce, which tied everything together really well. Honestly, nothing I got was disappointing, and everything worked together as a combination. For sides, the bowl comes with pita bread, and I also got a red velvet cookie (pictured below)—which was incredible. It had the perfect balance of crispy and chewy, and since we were sitting outside, the sun warmed it up just enough to make the chocolate slightly melty, which made it even better. They also offer other desserts like baklava and different cookie flavors. Pricing felt fair for what you get. My meal came out to around $15, but that included double protein and a cookie, so it’s definitely possible to spend less. Considering the portion size, freshness, and overall quality, it’s absolutely worth it. Overall, this was another great experience. It’s one of my go-to spots when I want something quick, filling, and on the healthier side. I’ll definitely keep coming back, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a fast-casual option that doesn’t feel like typical fast food—especially if you’re into fitness or just want something fresh and customizable. ~~ My Bowl Build Base: White basmati rice Protein: Chicken shawarma & honey harissa chicken (2x protein) Toppings: Turkish salad, Lebanese tabbouleh, spicy feta dip, seasonal vegetables, pearl couscous, red cabbage slaw, corn salsa, crumbled feta, crunchy chickpeas, pita croutons Sauce: Mezeh Caesar sauce
Apr 18, 2026 · Google ReviewI normally love you guys, but I definitely won’t be ordering from DoorDash again. You seem to skimp on the portions when ordering for delivery. I have very little chicken in my bowl. I ordered a regular size bowl too. Not a junior. A few chunks of chicken and then some shredded pieces.
May 18, 2026 · Google ReviewIt was pretty good!! I got a build your own bowl with mixed greens, brown basmati rice, chicken shawarma, hummus, tzatziki, Turkish salad, pickled onions, and crumbled feta. It was fresh and delicious specially after a long day. Very filling, the bowl is definitely bigger than you think it is, but for the price is a really good quantity. The atmosphere is good, there is not much to it since is kind of like a fast food place, but it’s good to go for lunch or dinner!!
