After one visit I was hooked. I have a severe pineapple 🍍 allergy and ended up at pineapple land aka Playa Bowls. They were warm, welcoming, kind, and eager to help me choose my new favorite food. I informed them of my allergy waiting for the typical annoyed unbelief I usually get. Instead I was met with genuine concern and care. They immediately knew what to do and assured me they would get all fresh ingredients from the back and cut the fruit up special for my Acai, Blueberry, Strawberry, and Nutella with Granola bowl. They happily jumped at the opportunity to keep me safe and make my tummy happy. I was blown away. The next two visits I wondered if the above and beyond service would be consistent. To my amazement all proceding visits were filled with the same care and compassion with different employees all upholding the same outstanding service. I am in love with the food and the establishment. They even have a PacMan table game you can play FREE OF CHARGE! 😍 I not only highly recommend this gorgeous shop, I insist everyone visit as Playa Bowls has already become a staple of the Blacksburg/Hokie experience. 10/10, have already made this a part of my weekly routine. 🧡🖤🤍🫶

Playa Bowls in Blacksburg was really good. I tried the mango bowl and açaí bowl, and both were fresh, flavorful, and refreshing. The fruits tasted great, the bowls were well made, and everything felt light but still satisfying. Definitely a nice spot for a healthy and tasty treat in Blacksburg.

Wow—what an amazing first visit! The açaí bowls here are next-level delicious: super fresh, perfectly blended, and topped like a work of art. I was already impressed, but the service made it even better. Huge shoutout to Jae, who took amazing care of me! Jae was incredibly friendly, walked me through all the options, and even helped me sign up for the rewards program on my very first visit. Seriously some of the best customer service I’ve had anywhere. I’m already excited to come back. If you love açaí (or even if you think you do), this place is a must-try!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about the staff at Playa Bowls, especially Chris and Greg. They are truly kind, hardworking people who go above and beyond to take care of their customers. My husband and I were attending an outdoor event on a very hot day, and I was really craving a cold, refreshing smoothie. The only problem is that I am allergic to coconut. After looking over the menu, I decided I should probably pass because I also don’t usually care for almond or cashew milk. That’s when Chris went above and beyond. She took the time to listen to my concerns, assured me that there would be no cross-contamination with the blender, and made me an amazing strawberry and banana smoothie with cashew milk and, of course, no coconut. It was absolutely delicious! This is the kind of genuine care and exceptional customer service you receive when you visit Playa Bowls. Chris made me feel heard, safe, and truly taken care of, and that means so much when you have a food allergy. Chris and Greg are wonderful examples of what great hospitality and customer service should look like. Thank you for making my day a little cooler, a lot more delicious, and truly memorable. I highly recommend Playa Bowls!

Not only is the food (and coffee) amazing, but the customer service here is simply the best. Everyone is so friendly, happy to help you, happy to recommend their own favorites, etc. They open at 9, but I’ve stopped in multiple times before work and been able to order with no trouble at all. I’m so happy to have this place in Blacksburg staffed by amazing people!
