This is the Huckleberry Trailhead in Blacksburg just off Meadowbrook Dr and also for the Gateway Trail. There is plenty of parking here along with a beautiful flower garden at the entrance. There is a picnic shelter and a bathroom close to the parking lot. This is one of the more difficult sections of the Huckleberry Trail which has extremely steep hills between Glade Rd and Meadowbrook Dr. Yet this stretch of the trail is great for walking and biking. On the other hand, the Gateway Trail is a rugged unpaved and very difficult trail. It is rocky, narrow, and steep. This trail though beautiful and wooded is mainly for hiking not biking. There is some new trail construction going on not too far from the Heritage Park parking lot at the bottom of the hill at the Tom’s creek bridge.
Aug 30, 2025 · Google ReviewThis is a great access to the paths and shelters of Heritage Park, the system of one-tracks up and over Brush Mountain, and now connecting on the far side of HP through to the Huckleberry. Pandapas now links to Christiansburg, and it goes through here!
Dec 12, 2019 · Google ReviewNice. Literally the gateway to many trails, both paved and dirt. On a Wednesday after work it was about half full. Nice mountain bike park just across the street.

Aug 25, 2020 · Google ReviewHappy begins here. Well the hike-a-bike to the top isn't the most funnest, but totally worth it for the shred down!
