The Merrimac mining community once resided on this 28-acre tract east of Price Mountain, which hosted a mining tipple, hotel, general store, and housing for the miners. Today visitors can stroll, run, or bike along a 1.5-mile loop trail celebrating the heritage of coal mining in Southwest Virginia.
