Twisted Liquid in Blacksburg is an absolute gem — hands down one of the best craft cocktail bars and upscale dining experiences in the entire New River Valley. From the moment you walk in, the trendy, sophisticated vibe hits you: dim lighting, stylish decor, and an energy that feels more big-city than college town. The service is impeccable — attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm without being over-the-top. I went with a group and we ordered a fantastic spread. For cocktails, we started with the Irish Goodbye — a brilliant mix of Irish whiskey and Guinness with that incredible green bean honey note that makes it dangerously smooth and flavorful. The Lady Finger was elegant and perfectly balanced, while the Arsenic & Old Lace delivered a bold, complex punch that lived up to its dramatic name. Every drink was creatively crafted, beautifully presented, and packed with layers of flavor. These aren’t just cocktails; they’re experiences. On the food side, everything was phenomenal. The dumplings were a standout — tender, flavorful, and gone in seconds. The Pork Belly Mac took comfort food to a whole new level with rich, crispy pork belly and perfectly cheesy mac. The Ahi Tuna was fresh and tasted like it came straight from a high-end coastal spot. And the Wagyu Burger? Absolute perfection — juicy, premium beef with all the right toppings and a bun that held up to every delicious bite. Every plate was executed with precision and creativity. Twisted Liquid has raised the bar for dining and drinking in Blacksburg. Whether you’re coming for an intimate date night, a celebration with friends, or just to treat yourself to something special, this place delivers on every level. The innovative cocktails, elevated yet approachable food, and fantastic atmosphere make it a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back soon!

Stopped in for a drink, and it was amazing. I’ve tried old-fashions just about everywhere, but their “twist” on this classic, the Nutty Professor (bourbon, pecan syrup, orange bitters), was not only unique but delicious. Hostess and bartenders are friendly, attentive and efficient. Atmosphere is great as well. Who would have thought a gem like this would pop up amongst all of the standard college bars in Blacksburg. Make your reservations early…they are booked for a reason.

New favorite food and drink location in Blacksburg! Over the course of two nights we sampled 8 cocktails, and 7 of the starters, small plates and entrees. I want to give Twisted Liquid 5 starts, but it's not quite there. Several cocktails were outstanding. Many others show so much potential, but need to be tweaked for balance. Flavor profiles tend toward very sweet. None are classically boozy. Almost all are tasty, but dialing back the sweetness would bring them into balance . For food, the Pub Burger, the Blue Crab Donut and the Truffle Mac and Cheese stand out. The Duck Bao would benefit from an actual steamed bun. The Hunters Pie, oddly, would benefit from more vegetables. The pork pizzella was quite good. Service was friendly and attentive! Overall impression: like almost any restaurant, there are hits and misses. Here, there are plenty of hits, and even the misses show lots of potential! Twisted Liquid is pretty unique in Blacksburg, and absolutely worth your time. It will be our favorite haunt from now on!

They appear to be a restaurant, but this feels more like a bar that happens to have food. Their whiskey selection is among the best I've ever seen and as a whiskey snob, I highly appreciate it and will give it the highest praise. They have multiple allocated selections to choose from for you to taste and indulge. They had me at Pappy and the Old Forrester Birthday. As a whiskey snob I would come here repeatedly for this, and this only. The food however, I was not impressed with. $26 for a burger is pretty steep, but I do realize you have to pay for a great whiskey selection some way. The ambiance was nice and the wait staff was very friendly. Good but not great overall. Whiskey = Excellent.
