Every new town I go I like to try their local donut shop. Some are better than others, but none has ever bested Carol Lee’s. Their dough is fluffier, they have all the classic flavors, and their filled donuts are more stuffed than any other shop I’ve ever been to. I have yet to eat a better donut in all my years.

Carol Lee’s is the best donut shop in the NRV. They have mostly yeast raised donuts, but they have a smaller section of cake donuts too. I appreciate that it’s a no frills kind of donut shop. It’s just good, delicious donuts. There’s no seating; it’s a grab & go style. Drip coffee is available, and there’s a fridge with milk, juice, and soda. They’re open until they sell out; so definitely try to arrive earlier on the weekends.

By far the best dounuts I have had. If you are in Blacksburg VA Carol Lee Donuts is a must stop and grab you one or a dozen. I highly recommend this place.

Voted best donut in VA in 2024 on yelp. Initial impressions: crowd lined up early. Coffee: not good (that might be because I had to put a powdered creamer in it because I didn’t know they had liquid creamer in the drink fridge) although honestly I only halfway believe that. Chocolate iced donut: ok. Had more of a baked/cake donut taste to it (vice a fried/glazed taste). You can even tell it’s a different kind of donut in the picture. Not very sweet. Glazed donut: pretty good. Sweet.  Service: good. But: no napkins in the bag (that’s a negative). Solid 3.5/5 ⭐️. Certainly not the best I’ve ever had. Best in VA? I mean, we still have Krispy Kreme so….. Side note: you can park across the street and cross over.

absolutely phenomenal donut spot. the prices are fantastic for both single donuts and half/whole dozens, and i have sincerely never had a bad donut from this place. like a lot of other reviews mention, make sure you get there early! i'm not sure when they typically stop making new batches, but you should be fine as long as you get there before 11:00AM. if you end up having to wait for them to finish a fresh batch of your donut of choice, it's SOOOO beyond worth it, and i've never had to wait for more than 10 minutes! highly recommend all the classics, and a personal favorite of mine is the white delight (chocolate iced donut filled with homemade whipped cream)! the bavarian cream is also great, and you can't go wrong with the maple-glazed donut either! staff is always very courteous, helpful, and quick. the parking situation can be a little tricky due to the small lot, but there's plenty of parking across the street in front of food lion. whether you're a local, a student, or you're just visiting blacksburg, making a stop at carol lee is a MUST!
